Our Candles are for the Eco-Conscious
All of our candles are made with soy wax that is produced from soybeans grown and processed in the United States. To learn more about soy wax, read this blog post. When your candle reaches the end, you may reuse our double rocks glasses and tins for a multitude of purposes! Some ways we like to re-use our candles jars and tins are:
- Plant pot or propagation
- Drinking glasses
- Office supply storage containers
- Bathroom essential storage containers for things like cotton swabs
- Small flower vases
How to remove the wax from the jar
The Freezer Method
Candle wax becomes brittle when frozen and can easily be removed from its container. First, place the jar into your freezer for a couple of hours and after a few hours, you may use a knife to gently pry out the remaining wax. After, put some warm water on a paper towel and wipe out any leftover debris.
The Double Boiler / Bain-Marie Method
First, Fill a bowl with boiling water and gently sit the candle container in for a few minutes. The heat from the boiling water will transfer through the sides of the container melting the wax left attached to the inside. Then the wax will soften to pour out the melted wax and wash with soap to finish.
The Wash & Go Method
One of the simple methods! Remove the leftover wax using a sharp knife and then fill the container with soap and hot water from your tap, let it sit for a minute, before scrubbing the inside clean.
After your jar is completely clean, it is ready to be reused!
